GBG on a reconnaissance trip to Birdsville Queensland (30/04/2009)

  • The historic Birdsville Hotel across the road from the airport.
  • A long fence.
  • The Carcory Homestead Ruins built in 1877 as part of Sidney Kidman Roseberth Station and abandoned after drought in 1906.
  • A blaze tree outside of Birdsville blazed by Burke and Wills at a campsite during their expedition.
  • Race course home of the legendary Birdsville Horse Races. During this two day event the population of the town swells from around 100 to over 6000 people.

  • 	The usual suspects.

GBG Australia along with other associate companies recently went on a reconnaissance trip to Birdsville Queensland. Including the 700 km drive from Longreach it was a real insight in to the Aussie Outback.
